It's a Summer Challenge at Pixie Dust Studio!

Today starts another new challenge at Pixie Dust Studio (Summer)make a card or project that reflects a summer theme - could be colors, images, sentiments...anything!  For my take on this challenge I used (Pixie Loves to Color) and I made this especially for my God Child.  She will be a Sophomore this coming school year and went through some bad choices through her Freshman year.   She will need to start summer school soon to catch up on her Math which she had failed on...  She is a bright girl and wants so badly to make her parents proud of her.
So I decided to make her this card to give her some encouragement and I think the sentiment says it all..  She loves the colors yellow & green and loves anything with apples.  So I found the perfect set of papers that I had in my stash, I also used Spectrum Noir and copic markers, pearls, Martha Stewart border punch and sentiment from Kaiser Craft...
And  don't forget to check out what the amazing DT have created for this challenge too.

Happy Mother's Day!

Here's  a card I made for my MIL my hubby wanted his mom to have one of those tissue box holders so of course I couldn't say no... He chose the image from my file, since my MIL dances hula for the Senior Citizen group this image was perfect for her.... I had to make her hair on the grayish side since my MIL is 75 years old....I used the digi from Make It Crafty (Hula-Girl) and colored her with Spectrum Noir, copic markers, stickles, papers from Best Creation Inc. Memory Box (WhimsyCircle) ,  pop up dots and computer generated sentiment.

Enjoy your Mother's Day!
I will have fun day with just me and my daughter on Sunday!
Hugs~

For My Daughter's MIL!

My daughter is always someone that waits to the very last minute for me to get small projects done for her so since she came by last night and saw my tissue holder she wanted a matching card and holder for her MIL.... So  I had to drive into town this morning to pick me up more packs of the traveler's tissues....
This way I can have more to keep in handy when I make occasional cards to give away.... They are so super fast to make you can get 2 holders out of a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock....
Since her MIL is in her late 70's my daughter didn't want me to over power the card and tissue holder with all kinds of blings and blooms.  So I just kept it clean and simple!  Her MIL is a tiny Japanese lady and is so spunky...
For my image I used Kiyomi from (Sister Stamps), paper piece her kimono, colored her with Spectrum Noir, Stampin Up & copic markers, gems from Taylored Expressions, sentiment from Kaiser Craft, pop up dots, Memory Box (Whimsy Circle) and papers from Kaiser Craft )Chapter One paper pad.
What is really wierd my back ground cardstock is like a jade color but the the photo looks blue.

Enjoy you day/evening...
Keep on crafting - like I am all weekend (hehe).
Hugs

Need a Tissue!

This is my first sample of doing this tissue holder, but I love the way it turned out and I'm working on another one that I'm spiking up a little.... Cute as gifts or on someones work desk too.  This holds the travel size tissue perfectly.... I used Lisbeth on a Swing by Milk Coffee Stamps. copic makers, papers from Doodlebug, flower from a RAK, gems from Taylored Expressions, and spellbinders ovals.

Enjoy your day!
Be back soon with another posting....

Cards for Gabrielle!

Happy Monday everyone!

I'm feeling a bit better, I've been legs up all weekend recouping from a nasty cold that I got while on my vacation.... A little bummed out but my hubby said he'll make it up for me, will see. (hehe).
Anyhoo being gone for several days I got back with tons of emails from well wishers and one of my emails I got touched my heart.  Kathy, (owner/illustrator) of Pixie Dust Studio emailed the Pixie DT with the request of cards for a little girl that is very ill with life long illness.   She is in a constant battle for health and is not able to attend school at the moment.   Her high point in her day is walking to the mailbox to get the mail ( if she is well enough to make the walk to the mailbox).    So with this in mind I'm asking if  any of you would love to participate and send her a card here is the info:
BTW Gabrielle is 10 years old.
Her name is - Gabrielle Rothwell
                       46396 Grandview Dr,
                       Perham, MN 56573

This will brighten up her day and put a smile on her face if she goes to pick up the mail and sees that she has a happy mail waiting their for her.   Oh by the way she is very fond of Zebra's and this will lighten her up more if she sees it on her cards too.  So for Gabby I couldn't just do one but made her three cards and hopefully when she receives them it would put a "HUGE" smile on this pretty face of hers.   All my images were from Pixie Dust Studio.

Recipe for all (3) cards:
Glossy accents on the snout, images from PDS, copics,
Shinhan twin markers, bakers twine, spellbinders ovals & scallops,
computer generated sentiment, MS border punch, ribbons
papers from stash.

Thanks for taking a peek!
Hugs to all~
