I've created another shadow box and giving this as a gift to the birthday girl who will be turning (13) years old soon. Her colors are teal / purple shades! To start it off my head was going in all directions, I didn't want it to look to kiddish since she will become a young teen. I think this would hang perfectly on her bedroom wall her mom mentioned that her bedroom wall color is teal. Oooh that must be something to envision, lol! I made the box over the weekend, kept in on the side. I went through all my stamps and finally decided to pick out the TGF stamps. After starring at them for a while I told myself well here goes nothing, LOL! To give them the dimensional look on the shadow box I stamped them five times each so they can pop out. A bit of fussy cutting but it turned out okay I guess.
To make the frame box it's so easy and simple it takes a whole 12 x 12 sheet of solid cardstock. Once you get the framing done the rest is decorating it, so many possibilities for any occasion. The background papers are from the paper pad DCWV such a pretty set of papers in there. I used a bunch of different dies, ribbon from Stampin' Up on the front framing. The images were colored up with copics and Stampin' Up, lots and lots of pop up foam dots. The time consuming part was paper piecing the butterfly, a bit challenging. But I'm glad I pulled this through, it's one of a kind and in real it's just so pretty. I hope when I do go to visit them I will see it hanging up on her wall. LOL!
If you have never made one yet, you need to give it a try. I know they are so many pre-made ones out there that they sell in the craft stores, that are made of wood or some type of replica hard plastic. But for me, to create one from paper from start to finish is a challenge I just love to do. I don't own any fancy Silhouette or Cameo so I for one don't need those SVG files or whatever they call them to incorporate one. I just love trying and doing it hands free and just taking my time to see the end results....
Well thanks for peeking in and I hope you like what I have on my showcasing..
I'll see ya when I see ya back here again soon...
Enjoy your crafty moments, I know I love been in my crafty room all day if I could... hehe!
